He was born to D.K. Chowta and his siblings by name Prajna Chowta. Sandeep Chowta has also worked with so many Hindi movies and got his own Identity in Hindi Cinema and also worked with so many movies as supporting roles. He has worked in different languages such as Hindi, Kannada and Telugu movies. He was popular for his movie Bhai released on theatre 1997. Sandeep Chowta first debut movie 'Ninne Pelladutha' in 1996 and first Hindi movie Sanam in 1996 in Hindi Language.

His next movie 'Dus', directed by Mukul S. Anand and features: Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan and Raveena Tandon. The movie was not released due to some technical problem but movie music was so popular.

His next most successful Hindi movie 'Bhai' released in 1997. The movie was directed by Deepak Shivdasani and features: Sunil Shetty, Pooja Bhatra, Sonali Bendre and Kunal Khemu. After released, the movie was great success at the box office and movie music was superb.
