R. Balki also called as R. Balakrishnan is an Indian film director and producer who works for Bollywood films. He is most famous for his film Cheeni Kum and Paa. He is also a chairman and chief creative officer of the advertising agency Lowe Lintas.
He has applied for the Madras Film Institute to do a course in direction, but he did not passed the any interview, after that he joined Masters in Computer Application (MCA) Course. R. Balki is married to Gauri Shinde.
R. Balki began his film career in 2007 Hindi film Cheeni Kum which features Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu, then his next commercial successful film ‘Paa’ released in 2009, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan.
His third adventure Hindi Bollywood film ‘Shamitabh’ which features Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush, Akshara Haasan, Rekha. The movie is slated for released on 6 February 2015 in all over India. He has also produced one Hindi film English Vinglish released on 2012.
