Onir Biography | Onir Biodata
Onir is an Indian film director, editor, writer and film producer of Bollywood film Industry. He is best known for his film My Brother…Nikhil and his first mainstream Hindi movies to deal with AIDS and same-sex relationships.Onir also called as Anirban Dhar was born on 30-April-1969 in Thimphu, Bhutan. His father name is Aparesh Dhar and mother name is Manjushree. He is the brother of Irene Dhar Malik and Abhishek Dhar. He has completed his graduation degree from Jadavpur University in 1989. Onir favourite film directors are Ritwik Ghatak, Satyajit Ray, Luis Bunuel, and Andrei Tarkovsky.
His first debut films My Brother…Nikhil release in 2005. The movie was screened at so many international film festivals and for this film Juhi Chawla won the IIFA Nomination for best supporting sister. His next film ‘Bas Ek Pal’ release in 2006, which features Urmila Matondkar, Sanjay Suri and Jimmy Shergill, for this film he was nominated for best direction critics’ award. After that he followed by so many movies and got his own Identity in Bollywood film Industry.
