Education: Uttam Singh learned tabla and western violin.
Career: Uttam Singh started his career in Violinist for three years. His first chance to work with Mohammad Safi. After this, Uttam Singh played violin for big music composers such as: Naushad, Roshan, Madan Mohan, C. Ramchandra, and Sachin Dev Burman. After his big chance to great violinist for SD Burman’s son, Rahul Dev Burman.
After that, Uttam Singh worked with another musician Jagdish, to arrange music for movies. They have several movies working together such as: Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!
Uttam singh is not only Violinist and music arranger also music director. Uttam Singh and Jagdish worked as music director for actor Manoj Kumar Hindi movie such as: Painter Babu, Clerk.
They also worked Hindi movie Waaris (1988), after Jagdish died in 1992, Uttam Singh started working independently.
