Dualsense Edge – in-store guarantee price it?
Good morning all,
Ailing attempt to hold this short-ish. I used to be trying into selecting up a DS Edge, they’re $199 USD proper now, and I do know for lots of controllers, individuals suggest getting the in-store guarantee (I.e. Greatest Purchase appears to be the one individuals normally suggest) and exchanging them if drift occurs or there’s one other mechanical failure. I do know with the Edge, although, they’ve the swappable analog mechanic, the place you may simply purchase a brand new stick for $20 if that occurs.
At Greatest Purchase at the moment for instance, it is $60 for the two 12 months guarantee, which after tax would convey the entire price to about $280. Is the guarantee one thing I ought to take into account, since drift appears to be the first cause somebody would change theirs?
FWIW, I’ve by no means actually had large issues inside a 2-3 12 months interval with controllers till the PS5/Swap analog sticks drifting on me (however I do know that is an enormous criticism of the previous few generations). My authentic PlayStation controller nonetheless works, and my N64 controllers, regardless of all of the complaints about their sticks, are nonetheless in nice form, too.

Probably is worth it for some peace of mind. Different controller but I’ve had to use the warranty on the Xbox elite. Also for the regular PS5 controllers I’ve had the springs break for the adaptive triggers on both of my controllers. It’s easy to fix yourself but if you don’t like taking controllers apart yourself the warranty is nice to have.
